Yamaha YSTMS201
$66.00
Released January, 2001
The Pros:Affordably priced, good for entry-level users that want to try out a subwoofer. Volume knob feels sturdy and substantial. Setup and operation is all very easy.
The Cons:Subwoofer volume control is on the rear panel, very inconvenient. Only has enough output volume for small rooms. The design looks a bit dated.
The Yamaha YSTMS201 is a multimedia speaker set with a strong bass background. It is compatible with PC and Mac computers, game systems, as well as audio sources such as a CD player, a MD Recorder or a cassette deck.

Since it states a cassette deck as a primary compatibility, it is important to note that the Yamaha YSTM201 is not state of the art so is not the best choice for someone looking for the newest speaker set available. It does however have magnetic shielding to avoid distorting any monitors, a 30W power capability, a large volume control knob, and 3 pieces in total.
