Yamaha YSTM7
$30.00
Released January, 2001
The Pros:Controls on the speaker are easy to work with, well designed. Well shielded to avoid interfering with the monitor or anything else. Work with any standard headphone jack, compatible with everything.
The Cons:Not capable of ever getting very loud. Noticeable distortion when turned all the way up, gets severe. Design is a little boring and boxy, takes up more room than necessary.

It includes magnetic shielding to protect both monitors and other computer equipment from being disrupted by proximity to the speakers. The speaker cones are made out of spruce pulp, the same material that is used to make piano sound boards. The speakers include a subwoofer output jack to allow the consumer to expand the system. A headphone output jack is also included so that the speakers can enhance the sound quality to the headphones better than the sound card could do on its own. The Yamaha YSTM7 comes in two colors, black or computer white.
