Philips Fidelio DS8800W

The Philips Fidelio DS8800W is an iPhone, iPod and iPad docking speaker that features Philips SoundCurve technology and wireless Apple AirPlay streaming. Digital audio output is sent from the portable device directly to the speaker system as opposed to sending it via analog connection, thereby maintaining the pristine sound of your audio files.

AirPlay enables streaming of uncompressed audio data from your computer or Apple device and is as simple as opening up iTunes and pressing play without any wires or complicated set up. Apple has also made available for download a remote application that can be used to control your computer and subsequently the Fidelio wirelessly from your Apple device. You can even control more than one Fidelio at the same time if you have one in different rooms of the house. Another nice feature of AirPlay is that it will stream other audio sources such as Youtube, video games, music software, web based tv etc. Debuted at the June 2011 CE show, the speaker employs 2 x 15W RMS neodymium drivers, tuned bass pipes for tight bass reproduction, USB connectivity and comes with a remote control. SoundCurve is an acoustically optimized curved speaker cabinet design that reinforces rigidity and reduces internal vibrations and distortion.
