Logitech X-540
$100.00
Released November, 2006
The Pros:Can easily be found for nearly half the MSRP these days and it was already a good price for the quality. The center speaker is designed to be clipped on the top of an LCD monitor, saving valuable desktop space. The remote unit allows for volume, bass adjustment, etc. without needing to fumble around for the subwoofer (where many desktop speaker controls are located).
The Cons:At 5 feet, the remote cable is a little on the short side for some setups.
The X-540 is a multimedia 5.1-channel speaker system from Logitech and is an upgrade to the X-240. The system is comprised of 4 satellite speakers and 1 center channel speaker, each with dual 2" drivers.

The X-540 comes with a control center that includes integrated volume and power controls as well as a stereo headphone jack for private listening. It also includes a clip to mount the center channel on an LCD monitor and has wall-mountable satellite speakers stands. The system has a suggested retail price of $100 and comes with a 2 year limited warranty.
