JBL Duet III
$100.00
Released May, 2008
The Pros:Treble is very clear and crisp without any tinny sound. Installation is basically plug-and-play, nothing much to it. Sleek "champagne glass" design that's fun as a decor item.
The Cons:Bass range is hardly represented at all. Priced unreasonably high for a pair of simple low-powered speakers with no bass support.
The JBL Duet III is a mid-range two-piece speaker system for desktop computers and portable media players. Featuring a champagne-glass-like shape, glossy black rears, and silver speaker grilles, the Duet II and III were a major change in terms of design from the original Duet.

Technologically, only the Duet III is a step up, outputting 10W rather than 6W per channel. It utilizes higher-end, aluminum "Warrior" transducers. Low-frequency response is also slightly better with the Duet III than the II. The Creature III is currently JBL's only 2.1-channel option.
