Bose Companion 3 Series II
$250.00
Released November, 2004
The Pros:Compact system takes up very little room. Raised speaker stands keep the speakers safe from spilled drinks on the desk. Setup is very simple, just plugs in like any other computer speakers.
The Cons:Overpriced for such a small and simple setup. The control pad on my set is hyper-sensetive and always shutting itself off. Also the default mode when turning the PC on is off. It just adds a step turning the sound on every time you turn the PC on.
The Bose Companion 3 Series II is a three-piece, multimedia speaker system designed for use with a computer. Featured are two small high-frequently stereo speakers on custom-designed stands, a compact and easily hidden low-frequency Acoustimass module, and a tiny control pod with controls (volume, mute) and ports (headphone, auxiliary).

The stereo speakers are the tweeters, while the module is essentially the subwoofer. Also featured is TrueSpace stereo signal processing circuitry, which makes the audio extend through a room for added effect. Overall reviewers say the Bose Companion 3 Series II is compact and great for tight spaces. It’s also useful for gaming and watching videos. However, it’s not recommended for serious audiophiles.
