The Cons:Requires power provided by the mains (cannot be powered by USB). Small 2" drivers, 2.5" sub. Cannot match the sound quality or portability of a good pair of headphones.

The Asus uBoom is a compact soundbar designed to be used with notebook computers. This compact soundbar has two 2" L/R speakers and a 2-1/2" subwoofer to deliver 24 watts of power of high-audio fidelity and are designed to place the user in the audio sweet-spot.

Product Shot 2 It is 50% smaller than typical 2.1 speaker setups and connects directly to the back of a notebook via USB 2.0, but requires a separate cord for power. It acts as a notebook dock and the cylindrical design promotes greater airflow for heat dispersion and the aluminum body eliminates unwanted overtones for a better listening experience. The Asus uBoom weighs 3kg and has USB, AUX and microphone inputs.
