Altec Lansing VS2521

$60.00 Released November, 2008

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Almost ideal frequency response - might still have a noticeable low range falloff. Attractive subwoofer compared to the VS2421. Stylish and clean, without becoming overly-designed like some Apple inspired designs.

The Cons:Monitors appear to be the cheaper VS1520 (modified?). No wired remote.

The Altec Lansing VS2521 multimedia system includes a pair of 2.5” speakers and one 2.25” subwoofer designed to fit easily into small, crowded spaces. An upgrade from the VS2421, the VS2521 offers an improved signal-to-noise ratio of 85dB (versus 80dB) and a superior frequency of 30Hz-20kHz (versus 35Hz-20kHz).

The VS2521, however, maintains the VS2421’s 56w peak power output and 28w nominal power output. The VS2521 also features high tech, acoustically transparent metal grills and a unique design that lets users operate the speakers either in a horizontal or vertical configuration. In addition, the VS2521 comes equipped with a front panel headphone jack and a secondary input jack for MP3/CD/iPod players. It should be noted that the VS2521 doesn’t have the microphone jack included on the VS2421. The Altec Lansing VS2521 is priced at $59.95, $10 greater than the slightly weaker VS2421.
