The Altec Lansing VS2420 are a pair of custom-engineered, full-range ported computer multimedia speakers designed to deliver high quality sound at perfect accuracy. Competing with the VS1520, the VS2420 offers an improved peak power output of 16w (versus 6w), a higher nominal power output of 8w (versus 3w), and an improved frequency of 85Hz-20000Hz (versus 140Hz-15000Hz).

The VS2420, however, offers a lower signal-to-noise ratio of 70dB (versus 75dB). The VS2420 also includes a magnetic shield, one headphone jack, and a secondary input jack that lets the user connect their MP3 player, CD player, or iPod to the speakers without disconnecting them from the PC. The Altec Lansing VS2420 is priced at $29.95, the same price as the VS1520.
